Starting November 26th, we will have access to the Thaumanova Reactor fractal on top of several other new fractals. Bare in mind that the fractals of the mist are random so you aren’t guaranteed to see all the new stuff in one go. Also, there was a loot update for fractals so get grinding!

Defiance, will it be good in the long run?
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something so here goes! I’ve been playing around with Defiance since beta and the game seems to be great for a post apocalyptic world with aliens and wasted landscapes. It was released a few weeks ago and just like any game/MMO with that fresh release smell, it has its quirks and bugs but it looks like Trion is working on them as fast as they can and they seem to be keeping a good line of communication going on their site and twitter. I’ve played the game just about every day since its release and I’ve enjoyed the game play and the story. The game ties into the TV show that will air its full first episode on the Syfy channel April 15th. A reminder they had up for sometime in game indicated that you should make sure to play the ‘Episode Missions’ that are currently available because the first episode of the show is almost here. The missions give you back story on Nolan and his daughter that helps explain a little bit of their situation. I think the missions will go away once the first episode airs.
Anyways, as I get time, I’ll list a little review of the game. Currently there are just 2 of us ‘Goons playing but there may be some more as time goes on. My understanding is the game evolves with what happens in the show and vice versa so I look forward to what they do in game. I get the feeling this game will last a long time. With no subscription fee for an MMO, its not like you are losing money on the game if you take a break from it and come back later. Just means more content!
GW2: Wintersday Event Dec 14 to Jan 2
The event action keeps coming! According to guildwars2.com, we should expect the Wintersday event to start on December 14th and end on January 2nd. Stay tuned to the supplied link for any additional information on the event! Remember, just like past events, any level character can participate!
GW2: The Lost Shores Event, coming in November!
Just as the Halloween event has ended, another event is on the Horizon in Guild Wars 2. According to a forum post today over on Guildwars2.com, we should expect an event to start on November 16th. Stay tuned!
Halloween Events In Guild Wars 2 a Go!
Well, looks like Guild Wars 2 has rolled out with its Halloween content patch as of last night and by the sounds of it, there’s plenty to do between October 22nd and October 28th. They have a neat Halloween page with a time line of information so stay tuned to their site each day for any new information as the in game content unfolds!
I’m currently sitting at work but I’m sure I’ll be petitioning some of our members to tag along with me later tonight and through out the week as we adventure along to get some of the items that may come from the events. Make sure to open those black lion trading company chests during the event for some chances at special Halloween skins for weapons and shoulder armor. I don’t know about you but having a chainsaw/sword of some kind just sounds awesome!
Remember, if you can’t afford to pay real world money to get gems, you can convert in game gold to gems through the Trading Post. I did notice the exchange rate for gold to gems went up and I’m sure that is due to this event. We have a few days to experience the content though so I’m sure we will get to see everything before it goes away until next year! Assuming the items don’t bind when you pick them up, I will try to hook up some guildies with any duplicate skins and what not I get.
Borderlands 2 & Torchlight 2 Preloading in Steam!
If you haven’t been keeping track of your preorders or are still on the fence if you are going to get them, Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2 are now preloading in Steam! If you are a co-op game addict like me, you will probably want to get these 2 games eventually. Borderlands 2 will be releasing on September 18th. Some of us ‘Goons will probably be doing some party action for sure since some of us played the first one. I still recommend that if you haven’t played the first one, you should! It was a comical game and yet had a serious angle to it. Of course, not recommended for play when children are around unless you condone it of course.
Torchlight 2 has been anticipated for sometime ever since the first one came out. The first one was a nice trip back to the days of diablo 2 except Torchlight had very nice 3d graphics. Part 2 brings new classes to play as as well as co-op! The first game was only single player but I’m all about the partying up with friends and kicking some butt! Torchlight 2 should release September 20th. As always, I recommend grabbing these games in Steam since its very easy to use and it will keep you games up-to-date. It’s very simple to setup an account and download their Steam client. Plus it just makes it easier to invite friends to a game.
Guild Wars 2 Countdown, early access tonight
It’s that time again! For those ‘Goons that preordered Guild Wars 2 there is a countdown currently on their site that will let you know when the access begins. We will be doing a quick get together around 6pm MST in the guild teamspeak server so make sure to hop in with us so we can get squared away on our game plan(what we will play most likely). Team Fortress 2 with bots?
Those whacky guys at Valve may be introducing bots to Team Fortress 2 in a sick Co-op setting. It looks like Red and Blue Vs some Robots. . I’ll see what the update does in the coming days but the videos they do for the game are always cool!
A Blurb about Cube World
Been awhile since we’ve had any new news to report on the front page so figured I’d make a blurb about Cube World. It’s still in development but worth checking out some of the screenshots and video that is out there. It looks very fun and can’t wait to get my hands on it when the developer releases it! I think I might get hooked on it just like I did Minecraft, hah!
SWTOR Going Gold in a few hours!
For those that haven’t gotten early access, do not fret! As I type this, the game will be going gold in a few hours. I look forward to seeing everyone in game.
